The concrete foundation is watered and swabbed. It will now dry, and we will start gluing down the wood floor.

It's vital (and difficult) to keep the floor dust-free, so that the glue forms a long-lasting bond with the rock-solid grime.

Each of these 1/2" boards had to be unloaded from the truck by hand. There are 200-300 of them. They will go down in two criss-crossed layers.

A view of the lounge area, with all the railings installed.

The look of the railings decided us to go with either a "Pirate Ship" or "New Orleans" design motif for the salle.

We're going to go for New Orleans / French Quarter. We conducted a research trip to The Crescent City Open.

The best thing about the railings is that everything is to code. Infants will not be able to fit their heads through the bars... as long as the infants are also to code.

Even Garrett showed up to help.

Here is the 2nd quarter of the concrete slab, prepped and ready to dry.

The next bunch of pictures will show weeks and weeks of hard, mind-killing work. Most of the wood floor has since been installed.
