There is a McDonalds right across the street, and numerous other eateries near by.

Oxford has several nice motels, some with room rates starting at about $50/night. I can get you specific information on request. Dominoes Pizza is an official sponsor of our clubs and will be providing pizza each day of the competition. Registration is $20 for one weapon, $5 for each additional weapon fenced. Fencers rated A fence free. Registration (transferable) will be provided for each FOC rated referee who helps out with refereeing. All USFA rules will apply to the competitions, and proof of current USFA membership will be required.

To get to the Salle:

From Hwy 7 in Oxford turn west on University Avenue, go through two traffic lights that are right together between two shopping centers across the road from one another. Immediately after the second traffic light turn left on McLarty Rd. This road is between the Mcdonalds and a Shell Rapid Lube. Oxford Fencers Club is the first building past the Rapid Lube. (Read more directions and find the MapQuest link.)

David Williams, Provost — Huge step forward for MS fencing! David Williams is now an accredited Provost! Moniteur->Provost->Maestro! Provost Williams is the coach in Clinton MS, an extremely active and productive club in mid-Mississippi. To become a Provost you must pass written and practical exams, administered by Masters from the USFCA.

Competition: We sent several fencers to the Mississippi State Games on June 4! And we brought back 10 medals!

Schedule: It's starting to get hot! Saturday Jr Women's Class is moved to 10am (from 12pm). We will share space with the Parent/Child Class and do break-out training.

We have the new website up! We have not updated this site for a long time, because we were working on the new version. We tried several brands of CMS, we aimed for the moon... it was just too difficult. So we're back to our DreamWeaver-based site for now.

March 31, 2006

We have our patch test, Level I Exam. It has been taken 7 times, and passed only once. Study up on the basic fencing concepts and terminology, and be able to do 100 perfect lunges. The Level I Exam is administered on Thursdays at the salle.

March 20, 2006
