Classes and Club Fees

Most introductory learning takes place in fencing classes. OFC has several classes available, ranging from young children+parent to children, teens and adults.

Advanced and competitive fencers take individual lessons with coaches to improve their skills. Club members get one free lesson per week (use it or lose it) by arrangement with their instructor.

Sparring: OFC also has Open Fencing nights. See our weekly schedule below.

All equipment is provided. Personal equipment may be purchased in our club store.

Kid's Fencing Fitness*

Tournaments are usually scheduled for Saturdays or Sundays. In these circumstances, the Saturday classes are canceled.

* For the Saturday Kid's Fencing Fitness class, we allow children age 10 and older.

About our classes

We start with a warm-up and stretching regimen, and then move into games and drills that enhance endurance and agility. We learn the basics of all three weapons in fencing, Foil, Epee and Sabre, but focus primarily on foil.

We teach technique with both group drills and individualized attention, and eventually move into "bouting," which is the duel between two fencers. Towards the end of each class, we "hook up" and try electric fencing!

Ages

Ages 10–adult.

For the Saturday Intro Foil class, we allow children age 7 and older. If your child is 7-10, then an adult must also take the class.
